What Will Funeral Insurance Cover?

No one wants to spend much time thinking about their funeral. However, it is important to plan for that day, however far away you hope it will be. One thing you may want to consider is purchasing funeral insurance. You are probably wondering, “What will funeral insurance cover?” Like most insurance policies, you can purchase funeral insurance that will provide for as many or for as few costs as you wish. The more you want it to cover, the more you will probably pay. You may want to keep in mind that the more your funeral insurance covers, the less your loved ones will have to spend.

Will funeral insurance cover everything so my family won’t be left in a financial bind? As my friend Monica says, funeral insurance covers those things you don’t want your family to have to pay for. It will depend on the policy you purchase as to what it covers, but if you buy the right policy, it will typically cover most, if not all, costs associated with the funeral. Most people only think about the cost of the coffin and burial plot, but you may also want to consider the cost of a hearse, embalming, and flowers. These things can be extraordinarily expensive, and you may not want your loved ones to have to spend their own money to cover their costs.

Will funeral insurance cover the cost of my coffin? It depends on the policy you purchase, but yes, funeral insurance will typically cover the cost of your casket. It will depend on the type of policy you buy as to how much it will pay for your coffin. When deciding what type of funeral insurance policy to buy, think about what kind of coffin you want. Do you want a coffin lined with silk, or is a simple coffin more what you desire?

Will funeral insurance cover my burial plot and headstone? Again, it depends on the policy you purchase, but you can certainly buy a policy that will cover your plot and headstone. If you wish, you can also buy funeral insurance that will cover the cost of cremation.
