What type of commercial van insurance do you need?
When driving it is essential to have insurance no matter what type of vehicle you are driving. If you are driving a van it is even more important for you to have commercial van insurance because it is such a large vehicle and can cause a lot of damage. No matter if you are running a business or just running your kids to school it is important to have your van insured so that if anything happens you will be covered. There are three basic levels of commercial van insurance from which you can pick. You are required to carry at least Third Party Coverage. This is not expensive but will leave you with tons of bills to pay if you are seriously injured because it only covers injuries or damages to the third party if you are found to be the cause of the accident. Your bills will have to be paid out of your own pocket. It will cover the expenses of fixing damages to property such as walls, gates, fences, streetlamps, or road signs. The second van insurance option you have available to you is the Third Party with Fire and Theft. This will cover you for all of the damages you do to someone else, all the damages you do to property, and it will also pay for your vehicle if it is stolen. If someone steals your vehicle and runs it off a cliff this level of commercial van insurance will cover the damages. It will also cover if your vehicle somehow catches on fire that was not intentionally caused by you. The last van insurance option available is the Fully Comprehensive Policy. The Fully Comprehensive Policy will cover everything that the Third Party and the Third Party with Fire and Theft cover and more. You will be able to have all the damage you have cause fixed as well as your vehicle. Some policies will even pay your legal fees should you get any. This policy is significantly more expensive than the other two but, it does cover much more. If you have any of these policies and are driving your commercial van or your minivan down the road and look down to change the radio and hit the car in front of you, you will be covered. The damages to the other vehicle will be paid for. Your bills will only be paid if you have Fully Comprehensive Coverage. Make sure to look over all of the policies available to you before making any decision on which option of commercial van insurance to choose.
